Kaity | Senior Portraits at Greenfield Park | Lancaster, PA
I don't photograph many senior portrait sessions. Honestly, I don't even advertise that I do them. If you have been around long enough, you know I'm a self-proclaimed grandma on the inside. I had to have my 7-year-old nephew show me how to use TikTok...It's THAT bad.
With my style of photography, my biggest thing is being able to relate to my subjects, and I just didn't think I'd ever be able to relate to teenagers. And I'm not gonna lie, teenagers scare me a little. 😹 And if I'm being really honest my teenage years were pretty painful for me.
But Katy has restored my faith in the youthz (😹) and more importantly showed me I AM able to relate to them. While those painful years are in the past for me, that doesn't mean I can't relate to those currently going through them. And because of all that Katy, her mom, I were able to create some of my favorite portraits to date.
Katy is SO creative. Her visions and ideas for her senior session were endless and inspiring. She knew what she wanted and she was able to easily convey that to me. A communicative skill even some adult creatives lack. And don't even get me started on her fashion sense. Cheif's kiss!!
We chatted a bit about what Katy's next steps in life will be outside of highschool. I remember that time in life being stressful. A lot of pressure is put on choosing "the path for the rest of your life" when you're only 18 years into what may be a very long life...
Katy has a few awesome ideas and interests for her next moves in life. Things I never would have been able to even dream of doing at her age. But after getting to know her I have no doubt this young woman is going big, creative places with her life. Katy, my life advice to you is to put one heel in front of the other and take it one day at a time. You got this, girl! 💪🏻
