It always makes me laugh when parents stress about their kids at family portrait session. I mean we only had one meltdown and two crying sessions during the Metzger family photos. Which is totally normal! I understand worrying about your family photos. It's an investment and you want something you can print and hang on your walls afterward. And how can that happen if your kids are running around having fun the whole time? It's all part of the plan.

First off, I thrive on chaos. I photograph weddings after all...I also have lots of little people in my life under the age of seven... I am very used to chaos! Second, I want to build trust with your peanuts before jumping into the more traditional, smiley photos. Stranger danger y'all!! That's why I like to start with silly faces and a few races to see who’s fastest first before jumping into those posed photos. And I mean what kid doesn't like the opportunity to stick out their tongue at a strange without getting in trouble for it?
